The mural of a wheat farmer silhouette was done by three artists who go by "Some Girls and a Mural."

According to Dave Stone, the town manager, the artists were commissioned through the town of Limon after the mayor was looking for a way to improve the east end of the town. About 75 percent of it was paid for with town funds. The remainder came from the Lincoln County Tourism Board.

The mural is meant to catch the eyes of people driving down I-70, drawing people off the interstate and into Limon.

The artists were inspired by the beauty of the Eastern Plains and the area's agricultural background.
